This project aims at investigating the history of plastics in Portugal through compartmental studies, in particular on the technoscientific aspects of plastics (and its communication to the general public); the need to preserve plastic articles; the importance of plastic in the industrial design evolution, in corporate strategy and in everyday life; the relationship between the plastics industry, its agents (workers and local elites) and other industries (electricity and glass); the energy and environmental issues related to plastics.
